Station 46 Needs You
We’re a 100% volunteer department, and there’s a place for everyone. Respond to emergencies, assist on scene, help with training, or support the department behind the scenes.
Firefighter
Respond to structural fires, motor vehicle accidents, alarms, and emergency rescues across Montgomery Township.
- NJ State Firefighter 1 certification fully paid by Station 46
- Train on engines, ladder trucks, rescue pumpers, and marine craft
- Weekly company training drills every Wednesday at 7:00 PM
Junior Firefighter
For trainees ages 16–18. Learn firefighting fundamentals, earn community service hours, and prepare to become full members.
- Hands-on training with fire tools, hoses, ground ladders, and gear
- Strict academic-first priority (no late night curfew conflicts)
- Fast-track pathway to full adult firefighter status at age 18
Fire Police
Protect operating firefighters, EMS, and the public by managing roadway closures, detours, and incident scene safety.
- Roadway safety closures, scene perimeters, and traffic direction
- NJ Fire Police Academy certification, gear, and radios provided
- Crucial scene protection role without interior structure firefighting
Associate Member
Support Station 46 behind the scenes through logistics, administration, facility maintenance, and community event coordination.
- Station maintenance, logistics, and incident hydration/rehab
- Coordinate Operation Santa deliveries, open houses, and fund drives
- Executive board, bookkeeping, technology, and communications
